Share the Choice
Choosing to donate one’s body to medical education is a significant decision and one that should be shared. The Anatomical Gift Association can provide interested individuals with materials to help educate their loved ones as well as the forms necessary for authorizing the donation. The donor completes the forms and will carry a wallet card that explains of the intended donation. By sharing the decision, loved ones will feel comfortable in fulfilling one’s legacy.

When the time comes, family members will need to make arrangements with a funeral director to have the body transported to the AGA.

Sharing this decision with family or next of kin cannot be overstated. Without the knowledge of this intended donation, the discovery of the gift form or the reading of a will may occur too late to accommodate the deceased person’s wishes.
